Oamaru, the White City

Oamaru was our destination after Moeraki. When we got there, we were bedazzled by how white every single building was. The decision to build white was probably made in relation to annual sunshine. Even the main street was white!

Our hotel was a little odd (sorry, no pics; we were befuddled as well as bedazzled). The room was lovely, even gorgeous; but where there was room for three to sleep, only one narrow spot for a suitcase was provided. Where the bathroom was breathtaking, the paper roll was mounted almost behind you. Where the mini kitchen had brand-new pots and pans for the narrow stove, there was no table at which one could eat. Weird.
