Kayaking the Sounds

We journeyed to Lochmara Bay, where the Lodge was one of our several stops (top pic, below).

The soundwater was teeming with jellyfish, one of which is photographed on shore. You couldn't dip your paddle without knocking a few out of its path. We had read that we should expect to see seahorses and stingrays, but all we saw were jellies!

Near the bottom is at Seal Point (first of two pics includes the nose of the kayak). A seal was lolling in the water, very close to us; and another was lazing on the beach, below a branch.

Finally, we couldn't resist the sight of TWO ferries, one headed in and one headed out, just as we were returning to base.
