Northland

We had a six-hour drive from Thames to our next destination. It was the world's longest, through hairpin after switchback after ear-popping rises and dips. I was quite queasy by the end.

At maybe two moments, we could see water in the far distance (see below). And this was supposed to be a scenic "dual-coast" drive! What we did see was a business called Killer Prawns. Hope you can read that.

However, when we got to where the beaches were close enough to touch, it was worth it. Each was more gorgeous than the last.
