Squash & Tomatoes

We have one, only one, squash forming in our garden plot. Plenty of blooms, though! Wondering if this should provide a caution to us, as we hope to find chayote squash seeds for next year. If they don't "take", then why plant them?

Other things that it might be worth it, store-price-wise, to grow: jicama, herbs, and asparagus. It's an advantage to know already that squash is not successful for us.

Our tomatoes, on the other hand, are taking off. Both of the pics below are of baby yellow pears. But Vic has already picked some of our Sun Glow orange cherries, fully ripe.
